Google Doodle is a decoration to the Google logo to commemorate certain important dates, ceremonies and festivals. The current official Google logo has been designed by Ruth Kedar and certain modifications of humorous or cartoonish types are added to the current logo to mark important dates. These decorated logos are known today as Google Doodles.
The first Google Doodle was designed by Larry Page and Sergey Brin to let users know of their absence in case of a server crash as they we out to celebrate the Burning Man Festival back in 1998. A lot many Google Doodle has been designed since then. Google’s own gallery features more than 1000 logos. From time to time Google also shows a colorless logo in recognition of major tragedy or disasters.
